We’re in the paper! Reporter Ed Gardiner interviewed Anna and Clare to write up an article about the choir and let people know about our upcoming Bastille Day concert. With a print readership of about 19,000, this was a great chance to get the word out.
The piece was published in the Northcote Leader on July 5. Photo thanks to choir supporter Sally Watson.
Choir sings up a storm in French
Bastille Day Soiree set for church
By Ed Gardiner
Say bonjour to a world-class French choir.
the La La La Chorale is preparing for its Bastille Day Soiree at Northcote Uniting Church.
The renowned choir has performed at the National Gallery of Victoria, and appeared on ABC’s Spicks and Specks.
Thornbury member Anna French has spent nearly 20 years with the choir.
“We enjoy rehearsing at the (church), both as part of its local community and because the acoustics are terrific,” Ms French said.
“We are always on the lookout for new members — and it helps if they are familiar with the French language.”
The La La La Chorale’s French Soiree is on Saturday July 22 at 8pm.
